1<\/span><\/sup> Light, space, zest\u00e2\u20ac\u201d that’s\u00c2\u00a0God!
\n<\/span><\/span>So, with him on my side I’m fearless,
\n<\/span><\/span>afraid of no one and nothing. <\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n

2<\/span><\/sup> When vandal hordes ride down
\nready to eat me alive,
\nThose bullies and toughs
\nfall flat on their faces.<\/span><\/p>\n

3<\/span><\/sup> When besieged,
\nI’m calm as a baby.
\nWhen all hell breaks loose,
\nI’m collected and cool.<\/span><\/p>\n

4<\/span><\/sup> I’m asking\u00c2\u00a0God\u00c2\u00a0for one thing,
\nonly one thing:
\nTo live with him in his house
\nmy whole life long.
\nI’ll contemplate his beauty;
\nI’ll study at his feet.<\/span><\/p>\n

5<\/span><\/sup> That’s the only quiet, secure place
\nin a noisy world,
\nThe perfect getaway,
\nfar from the buzz of traffic.<\/span><\/p>\n

6<\/span><\/sup> God holds me head and shoulders
\nabove all who try to pull me down.
\nI’m headed for his place to offer anthems
\nthat will raise the roof!
\nAlready I’m singing God-songs;
\nI’m making music to\u00c2\u00a0God.<\/span><\/p>\n

7-9<\/span><\/sup> Listen,\u00c2\u00a0God, I’m calling at the top of my lungs:
\n“Be good to me! Answer me!”
\nWhen my heart whispered, “Seek God,”
\nmy whole being replied,
\n“I’m seeking him!”
\nDon’t hide from me now!<\/span><\/p>\n

9-10<\/span><\/sup> You’ve always been right there for me;
\ndon’t turn your back on me now.
\nDon’t throw me out, don’t abandon me;
\nyou’ve always kept the door open.
\nMy father and mother walked out and left me,
\nbut God took me in.<\/span><\/p>\n

11-12<\/span><\/sup> Point me down your highway,\u00c2\u00a0God;
\ndirect me along a well-lighted street;
\nshow my enemies whose side you’re on.
\nDon’t throw me to the dogs,
\nthose liars who are out to get me,
\nfilling the air with their threats.<\/span><\/p>\n

13-14<\/span><\/sup> I’m sure now I’ll see God’s goodness
\nin the exuberant earth.
\nStay with\u00c2\u00a0God!
\nTake heart. Don’t quit.
\nI’ll say it again:
