The Apostles Creed – a statement of faith… \u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0This creed succinctly states a set of beliefs. Do I profess it? Why, yes I do. Do I live like I believe it? hmmm…..<\/p>\n
Statement number 1 addresses God (even the demons believe that and tremble). The it says ‘the Father almighty’. The parental word gets me every time. God is a perfect Father, perfect giver, perfect protector, who loves me more than I can ever think or imagine. He is love – and He casts out fear. He loves, sustains, strengthens, provides, guides, renews, forgives, …<\/p>\n
So – if all the above is true – and I believe that it is, then why is He a part of my life – and not my WHOLE life? Knowing that He wants what is best for me, why do I resist? Why is there ever even a question or a choice to be made between my way and His?<\/p>\n
Because I’m human. Because He created me with a brain and a heart. Because He delights in me, and is pleased when I choose Him.<\/p>\n
1. Come, Thou Fount of every blessing,
\nTune my heart to sing Thy grace;
\nStreams of mercy, never ceasing,
\nCall for songs of loudest praise.
\nTeach me some melodious sonnet,
\nSung by flaming tongues above.
\nPraise the mount, I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m fixed upon it,
\nMount of Thy redeeming love.<\/p>\n
2. Sorrowing I shall be in spirit,
\nTill released from flesh and sin,
\nYet from what I do inherit,
\nHere Thy praises I’ll begin;
\nHere I raise my\u00c2\u00a0Ebenezer;
\nHere by Thy great help I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve come;
\nAnd I hope, by Thy good pleasure,
\nSafely to arrive at home.<\/p>\n
3. Jesus sought me when a stranger,
\nWandering from the fold of God;
\nHe, to rescue me from danger,
\nInterposed His precious blood;
\nHow His kindness yet pursues me
\nMortal tongue can never tell,
\nClothed in flesh, till death shall loose me
\nI cannot proclaim it well.<\/p>\n
4. O to grace how great a debtor
\nDaily I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m constrained to be!
\nLet Thy goodness, like a fetter,
\nBind my wandering heart to Thee.

5. O that day when freed from sinning,
